Ngopi Terms of Service

Welcome to Ngopi. By using this service, you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. About the Service

Ngopi is an Indonesian specialty coffee community platform licensed under AGPL-3.0. Source code is on GitHub and anyone may audit, fork, or self-host. The service is provided AS-IS, with no warranty regarding availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

2. Accounts

  • Minimum age: 13 years.
  • One user = one account. Multiple accounts for manipulation (spam likes/follows, challenge leaderboard) are prohibited.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret.

3. Your Content (UGC)

By posting brew logs, recipes, comments, or posts on Ngopi, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display, store, and distribute that content within the platform. You retain copyright.

All public UGC on Ngopi is licensed to the public under CC BY-SA 4.0:

  • Others may copy & remix with attribution to you.
  • Derivatives must use the same license (CC BY-SA 4.0).
  • This license applies from the moment content is published public. Private content stays private.

You represent that the content you upload is yours or you have the right to post it.

4. Conduct Rules

Prohibited:

  • Spam & flooding: repeated posts, auto-posting, hidden ads.
  • Harassment, hate speech, doxxing: one strike = ban.
  • Illegal content: IP infringement, hoaxes, pornography, violent content.
  • System manipulation: sockpuppets for like farming, leaderboard cheating, roaster-review manipulation.
  • Security-weakening reverse engineering: rate limiter bypass, mass scraping without permission.
  • Impersonation: posing as a roaster/brand without authorization.

Security audits & bug reports are welcome (see CONTRIBUTING.md).

5. AI Chat

  • The AI assistant is a reference assistant, not an authoritative source. Answers may be wrong.
  • We may anonymously review AI queries for quality tuning.
  • Rate limits: 20 queries/hour, 100 queries/day per user (subject to change with notice).
  • Prohibited: prompt injection, abuse for restricted content (politics, illegal activities, etc).

6. Roaster Verified

  • Verified profile fee: starting IDR 150,000/month (subject to change with 30 days notice).
  • Roaster claims verified via email domain or legal documents.
  • Ngopi reserves the right to reject or revoke verification for ethical violations (scams, community boycotts).

7. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account anytime from the profile page (or contact admin).
  • We may suspend/ban accounts for violations of these Terms, with warning when possible.
  • After a ban, your public content may remain visible (anonymized) to preserve community thread integrity.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Ngopi is not liable for decisions you make based on platform information (recipes, roaster reviews, AI troubleshooting). Check authoritative sources for important decisions.
  • Our maximum liability (if legal dispute): limited to the fees you paid Ngopi in the last 12 months. For free users, = Rp 0.

9. Outages & Maintenance

Ngopi can go down at any time (upgrades, incidents, force majeure). We provide no SLA for the free tier. Roaster Verified has a separate SLA.

10. Changes to Terms

  • Changes notified via email + in-app banner.
  • Minimum 30-day grace period before effect.
  • If you disagree, you can delete your account.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia (UU ITE, UU PDP, Copyright Law). Disputes are resolved through consultation; if that fails, at the South Jakarta District Court.
